Hi! My name is Susie Rand, and I am thrilled to be joining the Fox River School District as the ARS school counselor/ social worker. I have spent the last 9+ years working in the same capacity in Belvidere District 100. I am a big believer that supportive relationships and social/emotional development can lead to improved learning.
I started my career as a high-school English teacher in the Chicago Public Schools but soon had a family. I then stayed home to raise a son and 2 daughters (now young adults). My husband, Carlos, and I live in Barrington and enjoy our community of friends, pickleball and golf (sometimes), staying active, and reading (when we can).

My name is Ashley Wisniewski and I will be the first grade teacher at Algonquin road school. I have been teaching for three years. I took some time off to raise my children. I live in Arlington Heights with my husband, Tom, and our four children. I taught Kindergarten in Mt. Prospect for nine years and I am a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist. Teaching children to read is my passion, and I am very excited to join ARS as a Literacy Specialist.

¡Hola todos! My name is Mrs. Mertes. My role at FRGMS this year will be Spanish for grades 7-8 and ESL for grades 5-8. This will be my 5th year as a classroom teacher, and I have also worked as a Bilingual Paraprofessional and a K-12 tutor. I believe that Bilingualism is a superpower. A few fun facts about me: I started learning Spanish in middle school and continued taking classes throughout college. I have a Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction. My family includes my husband, our 2 sons, and our 2 dogs. We love camping in Door County, WI and just enjoying the outdoors in general. Hi, my name is Nicole Malone and I am one of the new kindergarten teachers at ARS. This will be my first year in kindergarten, but I previously taught first grade for 3 years and fourth grade for 1 year.
