This week is Red Ribbon Week! The middle school theme days continue with tomorrow being “Travel the World Drug Free. Dress like a tourist”. If you ordered a school picture package, your middle school student should have received it today. Picture retakes for the middle school are scheduled for Wednesday, November 9th. Those that were absent and didn’t get their picture taken, are on the list for retakes.
Reminder that Monday is a late start. School will begin one hour later than normal. Next week is Red Ribbon Week! To kick-off the week – middle school staff and students should wear red on Monday!
Around ARS this week...
The MS is excited to celebrate Red Ribbon week next week and promote our students being Drug Free. Students will have the chance to partipate in our Spirit week celebrating our dedication to a healthy life!
MS students should bring any "Eagle Bucks" earned to lunch on Friday. They will have the opportunity to "purchase" prizes or experiences with them.
Thank you ARS families for the donations! The ARS snack cart for staff is open for business :)
ARS Families, We just received updated information on the asphalt path construction. It will be delayed until sometime next week which means the path is safe and open for business :) I will update families as I get information.
ARS families, the Village of Fox River Grove informed us today, Wednesday, 10/19, that they will be tearing up the blacktop path that stretches from Algonquin Road through Stanger Park to the creek beginning at 7:00am Thursday, 10/20. I know this may affect how some students get to school. Please make alternate plans for your child if this is the route they normally take to school. Your child's safety is our number one priority! Please reach out to Mr. Walton with any questions or concerns.
Growth Mindset Carnival was a HUGE success! So many students tried and tried again at the many games. It wasn't about winning. It was all about rethinking what we did and not giving up.
Let the Growth Mindset Carnival begin!
Cross-country team members should return their uniforms by this Friday. They should be clean, in a bag labeled with their name and dropped off in the box outside Room 106.
Remind your MS students to check the lost and found. It has been moved to a table across from the boys’ bathroom by the gym.
ARS third grader, EF, suggested we create a display for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
FRGMS is very excited to start our new PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System) on Monday, October 17th. Here are some pictures from Friday's all-school introduction assembly. Mr. Benrus was most triumphant!
Girls' basketball try-outs are in January. Current student physicals must be on file in the MS office before January 4th try-outs.
4th grade students have been learning about the structure and function of organisms. Students observed how systems of their body worked together to complete different tasks.
Good luck to our cross-country team as they head down state this weekend! Go eagles!
Exciting activities in Mr. Danley's class this week!
2nd grade students tested the different forces of erosion on a land model today in STEM. Today we were able to test the power of wind and glaciers!
